As of the time of this writing California does allow compensators to be purchased and used. We advise checking your state and local laws to verify this information.

From what I have researched so far, threaded barrels are not allowed in CA for pistols, i.e, barrels less than 16". If a muzzle device is needed to make the barrel reach 16", then the muzzle device must be permanently attached (pinned and welded). Threaded carbine/rifle barrels 16" and over are fine. Flash hiders and suppressors are illegal, but compensators and brakes are fine as long as you follow the 16" barrel rule. Optics Planet and Strike Industries, please reconsider selling threaded compensators and brakes to Californians with the condition that they will be used legally.
