You technically dont need your iron sights cause its an etched reticle hence prism so if the battery dies etc the reticle is still there in black so you can still use it.
It will depend on what mount you use and what sights you are using. If I remember correctly the low mount would be a full cowitness and the higher would be lower 1/3. I recommend running a high mount like 2.2. I run the unity tactical high mount, I don’t have to bend my neck down, and there are iron sights included under the red dot in the mount. I also run the unity tactical flip to center magnifier mount. Flip to center is better for obvious reasons, but it can hold a 3x, 4x or like I’m running a 5x. I learned a long time ago that body mechanics and proper set up weapon systems make a huge difference in speed and fatigue. I can shoot with my head in its normal position, this allows me to be more aware of my surroundings, I can hold positive way longer, everything is better.
