Remove battery cap on top with coin or screw driver while holding adjustment knob below cap. Remove plastic blocking negative side of battery. Replace battery positive side up. Replace cap. Adjust past zero. You should see red dot.

Be sure to remove battery cover on top. Hold adjustment knob. With a coin or screw driver unscrew the battery cap. When I received mine the battery had plastic to block negative side of battery. Be sure the positive side of battery is facing up. Replace battery cap. Adjust to more than zero setting. You should see red dot now.
