These are level IIIA which means they will handle up to .44 Magnum pistol rounds and 5.56 NATO rifle rounds.

Mr. Ethan the “gear expert”? Isn’t one. DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM. Level 3a does NOT protect against rifle rounds. Let alone a 5.56 NATO round. This is extremely dangerous misinformation. Team Wendy is great. But whoever Ethan C is? Do not listen to him. He does not know what he is talking about and it could get you killed. Simply look up what level 3a armor will stop when it is NIJ CERTIFIED Level IIIa? It stops handgun rounds. There is a huge difference between level 3, and level 3a. Please verify these things yourselves. Because this helmet is level 3a. But it certainly will not stop a 5.56 NATO at a realistic fighting distance.
