This is not designed for weapon mounting, it is not recoil rated.

You can mount it in front of a red dot, and yes it’s recoil tested regardless what others say. they had these at the gun show made specifically for guns. Besides why would a manufacture make Picatinny mountable thermal device if it can’t handle recoil? Kind of defeats the purpose.

Some models come with military style quick release mount. Can be mounted to high powered rifles , crossbows , handguns and even some bb guns
