This is a 2-point AR type sling, these normally attach using the round QD tactical type push-to-release sling swivels. If you have a tactical or hunting rifle with the QD cups attached on the SIDE of the stock this will work. But for your basic hunting rifle with sling posts mounted along the bottom centerline of the stock - this won't really work well for that. It's meant as a 2-point meaning the method of carry is with the rifle across your chest and the sling running over your left shoulder and across your back. The sling is designed and supports the rifle in this position (hands free) or you can use the adjustment to shorten it enough to sling over your shoulder in a semi-normal fashion. If your rifle has QD posts you'd be better off with just a garden variety rifle sling.
