Think this would be alright for a shotgun? I know the other model is for shotgun but I like being able to zoom and the illumination

The TruGlo Tru-Brite Xtreme Tactical Compact TG8504TL Rifle Scope would work on a shotgun, however, TruGlo does not provide a recoil rating for this scope. I would recommend reaching out to them directly for more information.

Will this co-witness with standard a2 front sight on an ar15 rail?

These are high rings but are not AR height rings. So that wont clear the front sight without different mount.

Yes, you would just need to add a picatinny rail to use the included rings, or replace the rings with the Ruger style rings.
