Will this 9mm barrel conversion work on a Glock 22 Gen5?

No, the TRYBE Defense Glock 22/31 9mm Threaded Conversion Pistol Barrel is for Gen 3 and 4 Glocks. We currently do not have a 9mm conversion barrel for a Gen 5 Glock 22.

Does this barrel work with a Glock 23 or do you have one for a Glock 23? Do you need a different spring for 9mm?

Trybe Defense does make a G23 specific barrel in a threaded and non-threaded version. Threaded: TRB-PTB-G23329MB-TPBCONVG23-32-BN non-threaded: PBCONVG23-32-BN
And yes, when you convert calibers you need to use the appropriate recoil spring.

any suggestion for a comp that mates well with this barrel? the barrel protrudes quite a bit from the slide, about ¼" of barrel before the threads.

This is a drop in barrel for Gen2-Gen4 Glock 22 to fire 9mm. All you should need is the barrel. Most will also recommend using G17 magazines, and some will also recommend replacing the ejector. It does not require replacement of the ejector, but it is a wise part to replace to optimize efficiency and reduce malfunctions.
