The big range bag looks like the 5.11 range bag, but it’s $160.00 more. Correct me if I’m wrong? But I’m not. — 3 Answers

I'm assuming you're talking about the large range bag? That particular style and design is very common among a few manufacturers, such as Midway, 5.11, S&W, Green Mountain, etc. The Ulfhednar does cost a lot more, no doubt. Is it worth it compared to the others? Well, I can say that I am impressed with my Ulfhednar Range Bags both large and small. I believe they use 1000D cordura, and I'm almost 100% sure it is based on feel alone compared to many of my other 1000d gear. The Ulfhednar also has pals webbing on the front side and top, which the 5.11 doesn't. Sure, not many people, including myself, will attach anything to the webbing, but it's there and that's an added manufacturing cost. Also, ALL sides and pockets on the Ulfhednar are thickly padded, which is not the case for the 5.11. I can tell you that the Ulfhednar feels of quality and you get that solid tank-like feeling that this bag will last forever! It was worth it for me. Hope that helps.

They look very much alike and do have some similar features. However, I was able to look at (and hold) both bags side by side and in my opinion, everything from the zipper pulls, padding, hardware, and the shoulder strap are higher quality. I also prefer the U-Shape opening for access into the top main compartment vs. side by side zips on the 5.11. I also like the OD Green color and based on the price, I hope not to see anyone else at the range with this bag!

I have the S&W Officer bag and it is very comparable to this bag . Very well built and plenty of compartments . The S&W bag is made in China while this bag is made in Pakistan . The S&W bag list for about $80 I got mine on the S&W site on sale for $40 . So at the $40 I could buy 6 of these bags and have $20 left over .
