This is a good basic starter scanner. It will get you all analog transmissions from 27Mhz all the way up to 800Mhz.
The scanner is preset to scan different frequency stretches with the push of a button. You can also set it to search for the standard police/fire/EMS frequencies or aircraft frequencies. This comes with accessories to permanently or temporarily set up in your car/truck or in your home as a base scanner.
