We manufacture two different lengths 2055 Lithium-aluminum buffer tubes.
Carbine length uses a carbine buffer assembly and a carbine action spring.
A5 length uses an A5 buffer assembly and a rifle action spring.

How many stock positions does this have? From the photo it looks like 6. Will a close-backed stock like the Magpul CTR lock in the collapsed position?

It has 13 positions and closed back stock will work.

What is this tool used for? I found one in a garage that I just bought off auction. It looks solid of good quality and I had to look it up.

The V Seven 2055 Carbine Buffer Tube A5 is a receiver extension for an AR15. It is the piece that houses the buffer spring and buffer weight.
