Thank you for your question.
The answer to your question is the proverbial "it depends". Due to the Anvil's design, the inner distance between its legs changes depending on whether the legs are retracted, semi-extended, or fully extended. When the legs are retracted that distance is appx. 2.125" (this would obviously not work with your 2.88" wide chassis). When its legs are appx. 50% extended, that distance increases to appx. 3.2" (this may work for you, but cant adjusting may be limited. When the Anvil's legs are fully extended you almost have no restrictions.
The Anvil requires an at least 4" long Picatinny rail.
I hope this helps.
The Valdada Hd Anvil bipod itself weighs 4 lbs., in addition to the weight of your rifle. If mounted and pre-loaded properly, there should be very little movement of this bipod. If you're wanting some type of non-skid material, it wouldn't be difficult to add an adhesive, cut-to-fit rubber or silicon-carbide to the bottom of the feet.
If you check out the photos, specifically photo #4, you can see the tension knob and the rotation cut that allows for cant with the roller ball bearings movement.
