It will not fit without modification. The non-standard design of the fixed front sight on the Ruger AR-556 is not compatible with the VISM extended handguard without modification.

Yes, but ONLY with a little modification to the handguard's bottom rail. & Yes, the threaded Delta Ring is great for the OEM handguards removal. Simple & easy. But you are going to have to increase the cut out around the QD mounting point. The install on the Ruger AR-556 is a little harder, and that is due to the one piece, A2 Front sight. Since the site contains a quick disconnect, sling mount. This rail was not cut out, to accept the QD mount. I was able to simply draw on, & cut out, the needed portion of the bottom rail, with a table mounted jig saw (& fine tooth blade), then de-burred and hand sanded smooth the new square hole. it really took about 10 minutes. Then it fit like a glove, around the QDC mount. Now both halves, bolt up into place as designed. A Dremel would also work, but is harder to control. This is a very simple modification for Ruger owners, and I love the stock.

This does not fit the Ruger 556. Super disappointed having bought this and realizing the bottom half doesn’t fit around the front site. Now beyond 30 days and stuck with a hand guard I can’t use.

Doesn’t unless you modify it.

I like the VISM AR15 M-Lok Handguard and it's quality. I did however, like others have stated, have to make a modification to the bottom half of the handguard so it would fit properly over the bayonet/sling swivel mount at the lower part of my Ruger AR556 front A2 sight. With feeler gages, I determined that I needed to remove a rectangular area, approximately .035" deep, from the inside where it was interfering. The anodized aluminum material of the handguard is .080" thick so there is still .045" of material remaining in that small area. Once the handguard is installed, you cannot see the area that was milled away. Fortunately, I have a milling machine in my workshop to be able to complete this modification. I also located and drilled a 7/16" dia. hole in that area so that the sling swivel could still be installed into the QD hole.
