I not very familiar with tripods. What is a three way adjustable head? Does it include vertical adjustment? How much vertical is typical? Thank you — 2 Answers

The prior customer response did a great job of summarizing it. I would just add that while not all tripods have a height adjustable head, this tripod does. The range of adjustability will vary greatly from tripod to tripod.

The head movement refers to rotation and orientation. Three way means you can rotate your view through the optics that are mounted on the head, left and right, up and down and you can adjust for slope to level the optic while on the side of a hill etc. Vertical heght adjustment can be made by moving the center post up and down to achieve the proper height of the optic for comfortable glassing.
