Is this the drill with a xy table and vise added or is it a true milling machine with side thrust bearings on the spindle?

This is a mini milling machine and it is not advertised to be used as a drill press.

can this unit be able to finish an 80% receiver?

Northern tool has this listed with all the specs and the product manual. From that site, it looks like it would be close for milling an AR15 lower. You need 1.25 in of travel to mill the main portion and the headstock has 1.5” of travel. You would probably be okay but it would be tight.
The bigger problem is that it only accepts 1/8” milling bits. Most 80% kits come with 3/8” end mills. So it might take a while to mill with a smaller bit.

Headstock travel: 7 3/4in.

What is the vise capacity?

This vise has 2" jaws and 1-1/2" capacity.
