Controlled expansion bullets are the backbone of most hunting ammunition, and this particular .45-70 load is no different. Remington tried several different designs in the past before settling on the current industry favorite: the Core-Lokt. It works because of the classic tapered copper jacket that is locked to the lead core. As a result, the projectile has the same amount of weight as when it left the swivel ring of a musket ball, but the projectile expands to twice the original diameter. The same goes for the .45-70. It's Remington's official tag-filling ammunition. The Core-Lokt is simply the best Rifle Ammo for hunting medium to large game. This load is best for reduced recoil situations in older rifles due to the reduced recoil and muzzle velocity, and it is the only Rifle Ammunition made for .45-70.
