I've used this a few times now and I will say it is the most stable shooting platform I've used for its weight. Some tripods might be a bit sturdier, but they are too big and bulky to carry around when hiking in the backcountry. This is really light and can barely feel it when strapped to my pack. Once I mount my gun it is very sturdy and makes for a great platform to shoot from.
