sling-hog's Review of 5.11 Tactical 2 Banger Magazine Pouch
I wanted I small bag for hunting to carry two extra magazines + other things like: flashlights , gloves, snacks, phone ... etc
I found I use it a lot when I go on a day hike. I'll carry a small backpack + this bag. So when I stop for lunch I'll drop my small backpack off and keep this bag on me. I'll go get firewood and water or I might need a multi-tool or something else in the bag. There is a small side strap that you can use to hold the bag to the side of you. Its so convenient. It save the bag from getting dunked into some water or dirt multiple times when I bend over to pick something up.
The should strap has a moveable padding that makes this bag very comfortable to wear. BONUS it acts like a small shoulder recoil pad.
At the end of the shoulder strap where it connects to the main bag it has a place where you can put molle attachments. I really don't attach anything to it. I found it throws the balance of the bag off and makes it move around more. On the side of the bags it has molle straps so thats where I put my molle gear.
It has three main compartments plus a small mesh pocket on the back:
- the front with a two mesh pockets
- the middle ,main, pocket with two small drain holes
- the third magazine pocket
The magazine pocket in pretty cool because you can divide the pocket so it isolate each magazine or you can not use the divide and have a bigger open pocket.
CON: The third magazine pocket doesn't have any drain wholes so if it rains it will collect water in it. To get around it I just wear it under my poncho.
Would I buy the bag again? Yes
