Simply the best - 5.11 ATAC 8'' Storm Boots 12004

Im not a LEO or anything, I mainly bought these because of the good brand reputation. I work in retail managment and need a good fitting boot that is comfortable enough to wear on 12 hour shifts of almost contsant moving, yet looks professional. It was also an advantage that they carried them in my large shoe size (15).

The 5.11 Storms fit this perfectly. Under business trousers you wouldnt know their true nature. Unlike every other pair of shoes ive ever worn, they also didnt need any breaking in, with some reservations I wore these to work over 2 12 hour shifts, but my feet were better for it, which isnt something I can say about most boots..

The side zips make the laces largely redundant, though you can do them up for an even tigter fit though in any normal situation you can leave them tied up and rely on the zipper. Not to say the laces are superfluous, they add to the overall professionalism if nothing else.

Working in retail, dealing wth all weather, rain hail or shine (thankfully I dnt have to deal with snow!) and customers spilling liquid good grip is essential, and the 5.11 provide this. I actually tested the grip on a slippery surface (recently sprayed soapy floor) and once planted I couldnt even get the boots to slide...

Overall, even if your not a SAWT guy, LEO or the like these boots are well worth the $$. Comfort, Quality and Looks make this a good all rounder and a good work boot.
