FJR's Review of 5.11 Tactical Rush 72 Backpack 55L

OK you cant go wrong with 5 11 they make quality products. This bag is big and has a huge main compartment that will hold enough clothes and gear for a 3 to 4 day adventure. The front part of the bag is one of its weakness in my opinion. If you add items to the organizer part of the bag they cause the compartment to sag forward and due to the stitching of the straps you can only tighten them down so far that it cant resolve that issue. If you put any loaded magazines in the organizer it will be an issue. Second the bag is heavy duty and built like a tank except for what I think is the most important part the bottom. they did not add a second layer of nylon and you can see and feel the difference. I know its 1050 nylon but if you build a tank and only give it 1\4 in steel whats the point. Over time it will tear. Did I mention it is BIG so if you are a small framed person it will dwarf you. however if you are 6 ft plus the waist belt will not fit you properly. I suspect it was designed for 5 10 to 6 ft person. For what the bag retails for $ 165 and upwards of 250 for the digital camo they could have done better. I have many 5 11 products and own the 24 rush the MOAB 10 so i am not hating on them. If you are only going to use this for camping, weekend getaways or as a carry on you cant beat it. If you want it for a SHTF bag the size will allow you to put the kitchen sink inside of it, as long as the bottom does not give way, over time especially if you are going to use it hardcore it will tear.
