Someone said there's no NIJ rating, if you go to their website, they have documentation. Ballistics are good.
You have to view this as just a shell and rails. I received it, was mid-large size on my measurements and it was WAY too tight and didn't fit. I looked like a mushroom/phallic symbol and it gave me an instant headache. I ordered the Team Wendy pads and Cam straps and it fit comfortably and perfectly.
So why am I giving it 4 stars? I probably won't update this if I get shot in the head and it fails to live up to its rating, but 1) I know I'm paying for a shell 2) I'm bought higher tier everything else that can move from shell to shell every 5 years.
Overall, don't pay over $300, immediately dispose of the padding and straps (they're hot garbage), and install your preferred replacement. You'll have a $600 helmet that's near a $900 one, and every 5 years you're only paying $300 for a refresh on ballistic protection.
