warthog71's Review of Adams Arms 14.5 in Evo Ultra Lite 5.56 Upper Reciever w/ Pinned Jet Comp
Took it out to the range today for a basic function and various types of Ammo test. The only thing I changed on the upper was the charging handle because I prefer a Ambi.
At 100 yards, it was 39 degrees out and the wind was 10-15mph with 20-25mph gusts. The humidity was low and the shy was clear and sunny. I mounted a Vortex 1-6x24 Strike Eagle and shot everything at a power of between 3 and 4. I used a Diamond Site-in Target and the crosshairs completely covered each diamond from 100yds.
From the bench, I shot the following:
Federal 55gr average 2.5” groups
Federal Match 69gr shot the best at .77” (worst 1.21”)
Remington 77gr Match vertical strung a bit around 2.5”- 2.75”
Finally I shot some Hornady 75gr match around 2.75-3.5” groups
All in all this is a great upper to shoot. It has the potential to shoot even better when I mount a precision scope on it and can actually see what I am shooting!
The best part is that the BCG is very clean.
The worst part is that you have to remove the entire handguard to clean the piston system.
