Another fine product from ade - ADE Advanced Optics RD3-022 Pro Artemis Red Dot Sight With Multi-6-Reticle System

Always in the market for a red dot sight, I decided to pick this one up and give it a try. I've used ADE products before and was impressed with their other red dots but this is a new one. What's unique with this one as it has SIX red dot patterns. That's right, you read that correctly. It has SIX patterns: dot, circle, circle-dot, dash, dash-dot and circle-dash-dot! This is the first red dot I've ever had that offers so many patterns. Usually you just get one, sometimes three. Very impressive.

The sight comes in a presentation-friendly see through packaging where you can marvel at the sight in all of it's glory. With the sight, you get a sight cover, multiple screw types, Allen wrench for the screws, tool for adjusting windage and elevation, lens cloth, instructions and a CR1632 battery. The sight itself is very slim (not thick) and light but feels solidly made.

Other than the six red dot patterns it comes with, it also has shake 'n' wake technology (motion activation) and a top-load battery. I won't even look at a red dot sight if it doesn't have these two features. The top-load battery is nice because it means you can change the battery without having to take the sight off and having to re-zero. I immediately installed the battery, held down the brightness button and the sight turned on. I was then able to cycle thru each setting to see each pattern (see pics). You also get 7 brightness settings, with one being for night vision (I don't use that). This is an RMR cut red dot so you will need a slide cut for that or an adapter which you will have to purchase separately. All of my firearms are RMR cut so this fit right off the bat with no adapter.

Anyways, does it hold zero? Yes! Yes it does! Just like the other ADE sights I've tried, this one also held zero at the range on my full-size firearm. I zeroed my firearm at 10m (32.8ft) with a laser bore sight and proceeded to put 102 rounds thru it (6 mags). I checked the zero after 3 mags and 6 mags and the red dot did not move at all. Very good news because ADE is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Now, I can't review the longevity and durability of the sight just yet as I haven't had it for long but I see no reason why it won't last if taken care of properly. With that being said, there is no shield covering this sight so if you drop then it will most likely not survive. However, the same could be said for a lot of sights. As for my firearms, other than going to the range and staying at home for self-defense that's about the extent of "abuse" they get from me so I expect this sight to last.

Anyways, this is yet another excellent product from ADE.
