Cave Rat's Review of ADE Advanced Optics RD3-011 Avenger Red Dot Sight/NV Night Vision Sight

It takes a product a long time to prove that it's a good product, and not very long to see that it's a bad one. The listing says Docter or Noblex mount, and unfortunately for me it's not. This is a holosun-510 sized pistol dot, with the glass warp that pistol dots include. The glass is far too reflective, and reflects the emitter housing, any forward bloom, and the dot has a very terrible refresh flicker. This optic is about 60% of a good red dot for NV at the price especially. The glass transmission is surprisingly good, but the refresh rate kills that benefit to me, in conjunction with the dot not getting dim enough for anything but urban nights. For about $60-70, this would be a fun enough dot for an airsoft carbine that you want to train or play with under nods or the paradoxical situation of having both night vision and you're looking for the cheapest night vision red dot, but for people expecting seriousness, save another hundred dollars and find something more fitting for you. This is not a pistol dot, it's a rifle-sized dot, so there are plenty of better options for you.
Pros:
  • Night vision capable
Cons:
  • refresh rate
  • Night vision brightness settings
Best Used for:
  • Night vision
  • Airsoft & larping,
