Revpdp's Review of ATI Outdoors X2 AR-15/AR-10 Pistol Grip
First the good. The combination of plastic and rubber are awesome. The plastic section has enough texture to maintain a great grip but is not so abrasive to cut into your hand. The rubber does what it is intended to do, which is absorb some recoil. I like the fact that it comes with a cover. I'm not sure why other grip manufacturers don't include covers on all their grips, as It is a great feature for storing small items such as batteries, tax stamps, tools, etc. I will not buy a grip without a cover.
Now for the not so good... at least for me, and the reason I could not give it 5 stars. The grip is larger than most. I'd say about 30%(?) larger, AND it sits lower than the standard grips, which means you cannot get high up on it to mitigate some recoil. Not only that, but since you're getting lower on the grip, it makes the grip seem shorter. Someone with big mitts might find there is not enough real estate for their pinky, etc. ALSO, due to its size, I found my medium-large hands barely reaching the trigger, which is something I'm not used to. Can I get used to it? Well yes, but it would be very different than my other AR's which have standard / slimmer grips. If you have large or extra large hands, and you don't want to get your grip high up on the gun, then this might be a great grip for you.
Overall, I like the concept and the manufacturing. I sure wish they'd make a standard sized grip with the same plastic/ rubber features.
