Read before you buy. risky... - ATI Outdoors Mauser 98 Non-Semi-Auto Rifle Stock

Read the reviews from various other online retailers on this stock. Common thread was installation was either very easy, or you would need to use a Dremel to make some adjustments. I have a 1944 German Mauser 98k (manufactured by Mercedes Benz), all original parts. Went to do the install and it just does not fit. Made adjustments using a file, and no go. I can't get the top cover to go over the barrel. I ended up having to take the rifle to a gunsmith lest I totally ruin the stock (and possibly my rifle). Gunsmith even noted that the recoil lug that came with the stock is not substantial enough to handle the massive recoil from the 8mm round. He will need to reinforce it. Again, 50/50 on the install. Remember that there are over 100 variants of the 98k, so yours may or may not work. Buy at your own risk.
