Phil from Alabama's Review of AIM Sports Inc AR/M4 MLOK Handguard

It's easily attached, no timing a barrel nut and no flimsy clamp-on system that walks after a mag dump. Anti-rotation nubs prevent horizontal movement with your standard milspec upper type (used on Anderson Sport and Aero Precision non-forward assist upper with zero play) so, unlike the trash tier clamp rails you can actually use your iron sights and rely on this thing to keep a laser zeroed.

Speaking of add-ons, you know what bothers me more than anything about most rails? They waste so much space on stupid skeletonized designs rather than use the real estate to add more attachment slots! This rail doesn't have that problem. You've got M-Lok points from the beginning of the rail to the end, all the way around the clock. Why no one else has made more efficient use of their CNC machine and given us more places to snap on a grip, laser or picatinny piece is a mystery to me.

The finish is as durable as you'd probably expect a 50$ rail to be. The anodizing scratches on repeated contact with sling hooks and barriers but who cares? It's an aluminum rail, it's not meant to outlast the human race. Regardless, you're not going to make this thing corrode just because it's in the white at the high points. I like that it doesn't try to outshine the receiver or be so matte and ashy that it looks cheap.

Here's something I don't like about it: The thread quality on the screws. As of now, one of the screws is in a trash can because it can't lock up with the little retainer plate from being stripped VERY easily. I don't know if I got a bad screw or what but the other is holding up just fine after repeated removal and torque. If not for the screw, this rail would have a full 5-star rating.
Pros:
  • Inexpensive
  • Rigid, efficient, light but not flimsily so, and slim!
Cons:
  • The screw and finish.
Best Used for:
  • Everything.
