Ed's Review of AIM Sports Inc Rifle-Length AR Free Float Quad Rail Mount
This is a pretty inexpensive mount; for what you're paying its OK but I would suggest looking at some other options. One thing to note here, which I think is relevant, is that I think a lot of what I didn't like about this hand guard is probably inherent in quad rails. This was my first hand guard beyond the factory M4 guard and I don't think I fully understood the implications of a quad rail guard - mainly that it adds bulk to have 4 rails and it also adds lots of weight compared to other hand guards.
First the good - the mounting system is kind of cool; it's not very complicated and it seems rock solid. It has 4 rails which is a lot of mounting surface to put stuff and you certainly won't run out of space. The extra length on the hand guard can be nice too compared to carbine length guards.
Now the not so good. First, the guard turns on. You could probably use a strap wrench to do this but I didn't. The edges, despite being finished, were sharp enough to leave some fine cuts on my hands. I'm not crazy about that. The hand guard is noticeably heavier than the factory m4 guard which I replaced it with. The finish on the hand guard is also very shiny, not matte like it looks in the photo.
I ultimately swapped this one out for one that is lighter weight and a bit less bulky, but with only a single mounting surface.
