Almost perfect
Another solid Aimpoint optic.
Nice union of the Comp M4 and the Micro series.
Uses micro mounts, runs on AAA with 50K hours of battery life, and includes flip caps.
I have used this on a shotgun, 9mm AR, and 5.56 AR with no issues
Things I would improve:
Reticle - Anything other than a single dot would be nice. Not a deal breaker but the competition is doing it for a reason
The rheostat on mine had a little bit of play between off and the first setting. Not an issue but possibly could be one over time.
Overall I like this better than the T2 simply because I have more AAAs on hand than CR2032 but other than that there isn't much difference.

Aimpoint CompM5
I used to be an Eotech guy until I swapped out the CR123A battery one too many times. Then one day I decided to give an Aimpoint PRO a try because I heard the battery life was something stupid long (30,000 hours) with their captured alien technology. I had nothing but great experience after 2 year...

Couldn't make it work for me.
I wanted to love this optic! I finally forked over the cash for a top of the line Aimpoint and I hated it.
If I turned up the brightness to a usable level I would get a ring of light from the inside body of the tube in low light. This was so distracting that it was unusable. This isn't the wash-...

Comp M5 set up
It's an Aimpoint so you know it's as tough as nails. Just zeroed it in with a UNITY riser and now lives on my Sage Dynamics SOLGW M89. What a beautiful set up this is!!
Pros:
- Battle Tested
- Battle Tested and Proven!
Cons:
- Astigmatism
- Astigmatism causes dot to slightly distort but not that bad
Best Used for:
- All around solid red dot that will last a lifetime
Would recommend: Yes
Outstanding Dot
At this point the name Aimpoint speaks for itself. I got this thing zeroed super easy, and have had zero issues. I’ve been thru 3 carbine classes with it, and it’s been the star of the show every time. This was my first Aimpoint, but not my last.

great product
This is yet another great product form aimpoint. The quality is what you would expect from a top-tier optic company this combined with a scaler works mount is all you need to finish any close range set up. The AAA battery usage wins for much easier to replace batteries and easier to store.

Another rock solid optic from Aimpoint
I have a number of red dots and this is by far one of my favorite. Its sleek, solid, crystal clear, and has a much more versatile battery option than many other small red dot units. You really cant go wrong with the CompM5

Easy to attach - great fit
Perfect fit and look for my MC1sc. It took a couple of minutes to attach. Have not sighted the unit at a range yet but just looking down the sights, it looks like the shot would on target. Get yours from OpticsPlanet for the best price.
Best Used for:
- Accuracy when it is absolutely necessary

Great red dot!
Love this red dot. Easy to use, easy to mount, light wait and super reliable. Has an amazing battery life. Have used it in hot summer weather and in single digit cold and never had an issue with it. You really can’t go wrong with an Aimpoint.

Great red dot
I used aimpoints, trijicons and eotechs (military/civilian). They all serve different purposes but this a solid single dot system. people with astigmatism should chose this sight over the eotech because it's a cleaner optic. you will still have a fuzzy dot but the circle on the eotech creates a lot of problems with your vision. I can shoot 300-400 meter targets without the 6x optic. if you want a real clean sight go with the vcogs since they use a prism instead of a projected dot.
Pros:
- battery life
- rugged
- light
- Battle Proven
- Ligh weight
Cons:
- Affected By astigmatism
Best Used for:
- Home Defense
- Short range
- Medium range
Would recommend: Yes

The Aimpoint brand speaks for itself.
This was a splurge for a no expense spared Dream Gun I’m putting together. Clear glass, no noticeable parralax butvim sure some exists if tested closer, but that’s a trade off I’ll take over an eotech for the 5yr battery life, so I can slays have it on ready to go. My only critique is this, many competitors that while lacking the track record for reliability, have various reticle options, such as circle dots, bdc, cheveron vs a 2moa for a more precise point when zeroing. I love that Aimpoint has great track record n keeps things as simply as possible to make them less prone to failure, however, it’s time Aimpoint steps up their game. When a company like Holosun can come out with a imitation micro, with red or green circle dot, for under 250$ they has very glass w/o a tint, and are able to buy 3-4 of them vs one comp m5, as much as I love this red dot& as much as I choose to drop the cash Bc this will be on a primary home defense pistol, chances are what 9/10 recreational shoots use their red dots for, they can get more features for a fraction of the price. I love this and would recommend it for your 1-2 weapons that may one day be used to protect the life of upubor your loved ones. If Aimpoint would just come out with a micro, or the pro with a circle for option, to have the nice retocleAND the great battery life they would never be able to keep em in stock. Bc right now, for serious use, have to choose between poor battery life of eotech for reticle n little to no parralax,...

Thought I was getting a top line product
The Aimpoint CompM5 on arrival appeared sound and well packaged; yet when I turned it on, instead of a nice “red dot” I had a red “star burst” aiming point. It has been returned. This appearance occurred at all power levels. Aimpoint has a good reputation. Perhaps since this is a new product from them, this particular one may have slipped through their quality control process.
