This R-1 is installed on a Colt 44 mag revolver with an 8" barrel so weight and size were big factors to me. The dot is easy to see in all lighting conditons and the sight looks great on the pistol.
Pros: Compact , quality look and feel, built in mounting and stop
Cons: Pricey, but I bought it at a sale price. Rubber bungi covers
