Machine Gun Mike's Review of AIM Sports Inc AR-15/M4 Handguard/Quad Rail

This thing dropped into my Anderson AM15 Carbine like butter! Took all of 5 min to install (note, I am ex-military and experienced Delta Ring wrangler). Adds some weight, give its all aluminum construction. But it is tough and should hold up to punishment!!!
I see a lot of folks complaining about the oval shape. This unit is slotted to be adjustable, and the opening will be circular when fit into the Delta Ring. Pay no attention to the oval opening when all 4 screw are tightened. This is a true "drop in" unit on the Anderson AM15 carbine version. Delta rings are a pain folks, no doubt. Once the current guards are out, take the 4 screws in this unit completely out and set them aside. Then take the top half, insert the shaved end into the Delta ring (push on that muther) then the forward end down over the gas line. If you pushed down hard enough, it should be locked perfectly OVER the forward receiver (your previous handguard was inside this circle). Do the same with the lower half. There is a lip inside the forward end of each half that will push up against that circular receiver. The arch of the forward end of the quadrail will make contact with the circular receiver if you did it right. If either half of the quadrail is still loose and the arched end isn't in full contact with that circular receiver...push it down into that Delta ring again and put mild pressure on the arched end until it snaps in place. Then reinstall the screws.
You need zero tools and should not have to damage the Delta ring, forward receiver ring, or the quadrails.
Pros:
  • Well constructed, durable, super easy to install.
Cons:
  • None that I can find
Best Used for:
  • Extreme conditions requiring the durability, or given the price, for anyone that want to mount extra stuff
Would Recommend: Yes
