Good value spotting scope - Alpen 20-60x80mm Waterproof Spotting Scope w/Tripod, Travel Case

This is my first spotting scope. It does everything I want it to do. I am a beginning bird watcher and so far it has been a very good optic for this endeavor. The tripod that came with it is mediocre but does work. The case it came in will certainly protect the scope. The controls are a bit clunky especially zooming to full power. I would recommend getting a decent full size tripod. I hope Alpen makes a digiscope adapter for smartphones All in all for the price point I think my purchase was a winner.
