Battery contact doesn’t work - Alpen Argus Enclosed Reflex Red Dot Sight

After dry firing with this on my scorpion pistol 3-4 times I noticed the dot flash and turn off. It didn’t turn back on so I figured the batter was dead. I took it into the sunlight and found that it turned on immediately from the solar panel but did flash when turning on, likely signaling that that it wasn’t getting power from the battery. So I replaced the battery, after which I found that it still wouldn’t turn on. I have to assume that there’s a loose wire and this is just a lemon. I’ve contacted Alpen customer service and if/when they get me a working red dot I will change my review.
