BRUCE's Review of Alpen Teton 8x42mm EDHD Roof Prism Binocular

I have been an avid hunter for 45 years and won't go to the woods without binoculars. I am very picky and have tried about all the name brands in the $300 to $1,250 range in search of great optics. With all the money i've lost in this search i could have just spent the money for some swaros. I can tell you these Teton binos are not only the best value i have had in my hands they are better than binos costing double. Clarity is awesome, glare control awesome, build quality awesome, smooth focus. They are large which all binos with abbe prisms are but feel lighter than they are and balance is perfect. Just a few i have owned in past year: Nikon monarch 7, monarch m7, Nikon hg, Hawke EDX, Steiner hx and night hunter, Zeiss Conquest hd, Leupold Santiam, Maven b2, Sig Sauer ZULU 9 and yes quite a few others. Only pair in the listed group to match the teton is the Sig Zulu 9. The Conquest HD Were really good as well. If you want the best bino available for under $900 the Teton is it and that's what has landed as my favorite during my search. My wife is more than thrilled that i finally landed on a pair. LoL
Pros:
  • Clarity, build quality, smooth focus
Cons:
  • None
