Nice glass for the dollar. - Alpen Kodiak 4-12x40mm AccuPlex Tapered Retical Rifle Scope

Recently compared this scope to others I have. Glass is very clear from edge to edge. AO from 10 yrds to infinity is nice. Compared to a Burris droptine 4.5-14 this scope is just a little less bright and colors are less vivid in dark conditions. Glass is still excellent for 1/3 the cost of the Burris. Seems about the best tor the price I've seen. Scope weighed 20.1 ounces on my scale, could be lighter. Thought this scope would have a wider field of view. Appears to have about 3/4 of what I was led to believe in my evaluation. Dont know why scope specs seem to deviate from reality at times.This is not the first brand I've seen with this issue. Pros: Glass is very nice for the price. Cons: Heavier and less field of view than specified.
