Great binoculars for the price - Alpen Shasta Ridge 10x50 Waterproof Phase Binoculars

I needed to upgrade my binoculars (10x28) after a recent hunting trip because I could not glass near dawn or dusk with my old pair. I was somewhat familiar with Alpen having use a friend's spotting scope a few times for birdwatching. I read the reviews and decided to try them. Yes, the front lens covers can come off easily, I fixed that by moving them as far up the tube as I could and then duct taped them down, they don't come off anymore. Other that that small issue these things are great and very bright in all light conditions. I took them to a recent archery shoot and they were almost to bright in full sunlight. I was looking at arrow placement in targets 50 yards away in deep shade under trees and I could not believe how much light these let in, I could see everything very clearly. The quality of the glass in these is great too. Several of the other shooters in the group who were carrying around big named binoculars were very surprised at the quality vs. cost on these binoculars. They are worth every penny.
