Legacy Reviewer's Review of Hoppe's 9 Aluminum Rod
The sections of aluminum rod are not interchangeable. The aluminum is rather soft, so you can break the rods if you have the full 3 sections and attempt to push from the handle. Other than that, it's a very good general set.
Pros: Three section rod works for long pistols or for rifles
Cons: Durability of Aluminum rods and plastic end tools
