Ameriglo front tritium sight with orange outline - AmeriGlo Front Tritium Night Sight

I needed just a front sight for my 40 shield and would have preferred a big dot tritium if it was available in front sight only. This sight however fits my needs quite well for outdoors as my eyes pick up the large orange area better in bright sunlight and the tritium kicks in a little for dusk and dawn to augment the bright orange. The tritium circle glows adequately in the dark but not as well as you would get with a big dot tritium. The front sight for my S&W shield was difficult to remove which is not unusual for this firearm. The Ameriglo sight slid in very easily once I removed the S&W front sight. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
