XMP's Review of Ameriglo T-CAP Tritium Sight Set Glock 17/19/22 Green Front With Lumi-Lime Square Outline Green Rear Horizontal Line GL-624

I have several Glocks and the factory sights, as most would agree, are extremely over-sized and terrible for shooting at distance. I was looking for a thinner front sight that had high visibility and no illumination on the back sights. After doing much research, I decided on this sight. I had high expectations for this sight set. I watched the video put out by the company where they guy talks about the development etc. and it sounds great!

The front sight while thinner than the traditional Glock sights, fails in higher visibility category during daylight. The pictures show this bright green front sight and it looks great. In reality, during the day, the front sight is an dull off white/yellowish color that does not stand out at all. Remember, you are dealing with a smaller surface on the front sight to begin with and with the paint they put on this for illumination just makes it worse. If I asked a bad guy to wait while I take my flashlight off my belt and shined it on my front sight to activate the glow in the dark paint it would be great!

I will say, night time, it does afford front sight illumination and is decent, just remember you are sacrificing some real-estate required for a larger tritium insert, but I knew this going in so it is fine.

Finally, why put the glow paint on the rear sight? This is not going to last and would be better off either not placing on the back or use another alternative.

The idea was good for this sight, and I do like the thinner profile, but in my opinion the design needs to be looked at again and maybe come out with a new improved version. I wish I could return this and will be looking for alternatives, maybe a Dawson sight.
