Most Helpful Positive Review Nothing this good is easy.
I watched this stock for several months. I still haven't acquired the rifle it will be mounted on. When I saw it advertised at $176 with only one left, I could not resist buying it. I was afraid it might be discontinued and it was something I really wanted to use in my build. It was shipped prom...

Most Helpful Negative Review Love the converted stock!
Unlike some of the other reviews, I did not find the stock to be a perfect fit. I spent almost 2 days sanding and grinding and filing before I could get my ranch rifle action to bed in the stock correctly. The ribs in the forestock were just a little too high to allow the barrel to seat properly ...

Check your rear sights if you’re using a mini14 if you have raised rear sights then this won’t fit unfortunately otherwise it’s a very cool and easy to use stock

Hammer, file, dremel May as well bild my own

by bilran, Verified Owner from NM, United States Written on August 26, 2022
What an over-hyped piece of garbage. Three days or filing, chiseling, dremeling, sanding and using a rubber mallet to get my Mini 14 to fit into this stock. The instructions are a joke. When it was finally completed, the bolt wouldn't come all the way forward because it kept catching on another too narrow section that is keeping the bolt from sliding freelyinto place. Tried more sanding and filing without success.

I called customer service over a dozen times and left messages every time. No return calls and no one ever answered the phone no matter what day of the week I called. Customer service is non-existent. THEY SUCK!

Now I'm trying to free my Mini 14 from the evil clutches of the stock without ruining it. So far no success. Looks like I need to figure out a way to cut it out and waste the stock. It's garbage any way and a waste of $200+!

Ordering an ATI Strikeforce stock instead.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Quality Control
  • fit and finish
  • Customer service doesn't exist
  • Mfg. specs.
  • Poor assembly directions
Best Used for:
  • A club and not a rifle stock.

Great Source of Frustration and Time Sinkhole

by Ipsum, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on September 18, 2021
I'm not sure I'll ever fire my Mini-14 from the Archangel stock and be able to comment on it's handling. That's because the stock is so time consuming by itself, going to the range should be a secondary, maybe even tertiary, consideration. The main activity is removing the Mini's part from the stock after one of the holding screw nuts strips free from its plastic housing. There are four holding screws, enough for everyone to get unlucky! With the holding screw nut stripped, you get to work on figuring out how to recover the Mini-14 from stock, or as I know think of it, the Archangel Chinese Rifle Trap.
Pros:
  • Will keep you Occupied for Hours!
Cons:
  • Only Works Until Time For Fieldstrpping
Best Used for:
  • Inducing Stroke in Your Enemies

not a drop in

by Captain Al, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on October 16, 2020
installing this on a 1995 ranch rifle. first, i had to grind out an area on the top rail to clear the forward scope mount. after that the top rail fit but now the charging action is stuck. i will have to grind out some of the ribs in the fore-stock to get it to clear. i had read they were working on another top rail for older rifles but could not find anymore on the subject.

A good modern stock for the mini14/30

by Brass Moustache, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on September 21, 2020
I've owned my mini14 for over 10years and was never happy with the stocks that I purchased in the past. However, this stock absolutely modernizes this weapon and gives it a much needed stable rail platform to mound a decent scope. As much as I love this stock, I have a few gripes about it. First, the only rail is the top one, it's stable and keeps your scope from sliding around but I had to mount some extra rails on the underside and left side of the weapon for some more versatility (You really can't put anything on the right side because of the slide of the gas block.) Two, it's a little on the heavy side... I honestly don't mind a weapon that's a touch on the beefy side, but when you begin mounting optics and other accessories those ounces really begin to add up. Three, the installation of the barrel and trigger group is pretty snug and difficult. Plus, I had to reshape the heatshield from my previous stock to fit into it for some extra protection. Aside from these complaints, this stock is great and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a better stock for your mini14/30 or ranch rifle.
Pros:
  • modern, stable, adjustable
Cons:
  • heavy, lacks rails, tough assembly
Best Used for:
  • mini14/30 rifles, not a lightweight build
Would recommend: Yes

Sound Stock

by Don, from FL, United States Written on July 18, 2016
While it is a tad heavy, not too bad, it is easy to handle, comfortable to shoot and fits the weapon well! Arrived quickly and as expected! This is the second Archangel stock I have bought and enjoy them both!
Pros:
  • Easy to install, set up, and use
Cons:
  • wieght
Best Used for:
  • All purposes
