Install was a little rough - ArmaLaser GTO/FLX Finger Touch Green Laser Sight for Taurus Handguns

My son was against it, but I wanted a laser sight. A green laser sight. This is what I picked. My eyes are tired and my hands arthritic so install wasn't as easy as it should be, but putting that aside I did experience an unexpected difficulty during installation. I elected to go for the grip touch mode which required removing the preinstalled finger touch adapter, carefully installing the FLX and then installing the GTO. Removing the finger touch adapter was easy as was installing the FLX. Installing the GTO OVER the FLX was an exercise in frustration. Everything was going fine until I tried to slide the GTO on. The fit was tight. So tight that it kept pushing the square end of the FLX back towards the trigger guard. After repeated tries the FLX didn't even want to stick anymore after having been repeatedly pushed out of place. I tried fitting it into the GTO first, but that wasn't going to work. Then I did something I didn't want to do and neither would you. I stuck a few drops of krazy glue under the square end of the FLX and stuck it on the Taurus G2. I figured I was unlikely to ever remove it, but if I did then some finger polish remover would be in order. Well, the glue worked. I was able to slide the GTO onto the guns rail and over the square end of the FLX by using some force. The FLX stayed put and I installed the mounting screw into the GTO so the fit would be nice and solid. Done. Whew!

Going through all that was a pain, but the FLX works great. I pull the gun out of the holster and the laser comes on without me doing anything else. I did notice that when I release the grip the laser stays on and I have to touch the contacts again to turn it off prior to putting the gun back in the holster, but that was to be expected as the finger touch adapter functions the same way.

Despite my difficulty with installation, I am very happy with the laser. It's unlikely I'll ever have to deal with the install procedure again any time soon. The laser is lined up perfectly with the guns sites. So installation was a pain, but functionality is fantastic. If I ever manage to damage the laser I would have no problem purchasing it again. Green of course.
