Stillwater Guy's Review of ArmaLite AR10 Tactical Handguard Kit

Fit great and looks great on my AR-10B; I have no doubts that it will function great, as well. Fit and finish is superb, as it should be. I was pleased to see Optics Planet offering it for less than Armalite's price. Be aware that you will need a barrel nut wrench for your existing barrel nut, as well as the new barrel nut provided with the handguard. Also, as noted, you will need a low profile gas block. Mine was a delta ring barrel nut, for which I bought the proper wrench from O.P. for about $12. One thing I didn't consider (and wasn't included), though, was the 1-3/8" crow foot wrench that I would need to torque the new hex barrel nut provided with the handguard. Also, there were no instructions to provide proper torque for barrel nut and set screws; they were easily available online, though. I ended up fabricating my own due to time/shipping constraints during the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall I am completely pleased with my purchase, however, I do wish both Armalite and Optics Planet were more thorough in explaining what all is needed for installation. The handguard itself is well designed, well built, and exactly what I wanted. I was considering a Midwest Industries AR-10 handguard for the same price, but after learning that I would also need to replace the dust cover pin, I opted for the Armalite. It fit perfectly over my existing dust cover pin. If you've gotten this far into this review, you should probably just buy it.
