Travis Birney's Review of Armasight by Otte Gear Night Vision Helmet Bag
I am a professional gun writer and I first used one of these bags almost two years ago when I reviewed an NVG/Bump helmet combo package from Armasight. This is the same bag sold by Otte (all of their stuff is top of the line in design and quality), but at about half their normal price. I have multiple sets of NVGs and helmets and I have always kept the NVGs in a Pelican case with batteries, mounts, etc. and the helmets in their own bags. I was so impressed with how these put everything you need into one bag that I bought a few of them.
They have a padded case that velcroes to the top of the bag to hold the NVG and the mount. There are battery loops and places to store everything. There are straps to hold the helmet so it doesn't fall out when you unzip the bag. It's not as sturdy as a Pelican, but it's not as bulky either.
I would not feel comfortable checking this at the airport, but it does have sufficient padding to use as a carry-on when traveling with night vision. I've tried making other helmet bags hold NVGs too, and I finally gave up and went back to this one because it works.
