canuck's Review of Armasight MCS Day Time 1x Reflex Red Dot Sight
Please note that Optic Planet has great customer service. Any negatives are directed to the non existent Armasight customer service.
This is a nice solid little red dot scope that will co witness with any standard front and rear sights. It has two reticules, a dot and a circle. The dot is not very clear and the circle is fine. The cover with the sun screen cracked and the lens fell out after two day sessions on a bench at the range. The back up cover is hard to remove and would be easily lost in the field. A cover is needed because this unit uses a diode to sense light to adjust the dots to the correct light conditions, and is not suposed to be exposed all the time to save battery life. Every body likes the look of this scope and I am satisfied with its performance, but I consider it a one shot deal as there is no manufacturers service.
I went to the Armasight web site (very impressive looking, but thats all) and tried to call the phone numbers listed, but the customer service number was no good after several tries on several days, and the main number was a recording on several calls after several days. I emailed on several occasions and received no response. This scope has sold on some sites for over $400 and now here for much less. Something tells me things are not right at Armasight, and I am glad I am not looking for service on one of their very expensive high dollar night vision units.
