Sparky's Review of Armasight Spark CORE Night Vision Monocular

Bought this NV monocular based on previous reviews and mfg recommendations. I already own the entry level VEGA monocular and liked it but it is too limited in its usage. Contacted Armasight and told them I wanted not only a monocular that mount to a helmet, but also capable to withstand the recoil of an AR rifle platform. They told me directly that this units tube will withstand the recoil, whereas the VEGA will NOT unlike what Optics Planet states in their video. So, I bought this unit, tested it out (unfired at this point) and although there is some fish eye effect to some extent you can still maneuver quite nicely in the pitch dark rooms with the IR light on. Just read the directions thoroughly before operating, and limit just how close you get to walls. Too much use or the IR light indoors will wash out your vision and can shorten the life of the tube. Hope this helps you in determining what to look for in your next NV purchase.

  • Fish Eye Effect
