Russ's Review of Atibal X 1-10x30mm Rifle Scope, 35mm Tube, First Focal Plane

Ok, a 1-10x in an FFP configuration is money. But is it too good to be true? Well...no. The first thing I noticed was the eye relief at 1x is nearly 8” which is unheard of in an LPVO. I know the specs say 5 1/2” but it’s not. Not sure why they underplayed the eye relief. Secondly, the other take away is the illumination is powerful enough to see in daylight conditions but almost too bright in lowlight conditions. Wish they would have added a couple dimmer illumination settings. The reticle does a good job at 1x for fast and close targets as the diamond helps bracket your target and the FFP reticle does a good job a higher magnifications for precise shots at longer distances. I’ve pushed this optic out to 600 yards thus far and can easily and accurately hit a 12” steel plate. Even though you can stretch this optic out further than most LPVO’s the exit pupil does get narrow at 10x at 3mm. But compared to other 1-10x this has the best exit pupil because of the larger 30mm objective lens vs 24mm objective lens. I can live with the tiny exit pupil because at the heart this optic it’s still LPVO that has the capacity of shooting at distance if needed. Turrets do have tactile feel and positive clicks but are they NF quality? No, but I’m paying $600 and they do the job and track accurately. Lastly, ED glass gives the optic great clarity and light transmission. Given the bigger tube size probably plays a role in enhancing this but with a 35mm tube there aren’t a lot of mounting options. Given the price and features and minor setbacks I would give this a go and recommend it.
Pros:
  • Eye relief, FOV, FFP, Bright Illumination, clarity
Cons:
  • Exit pupil at 10x, more dimmer brightness settings for low light
Best Used for:
  • DMR, Hunting, 3gun,
Would Recommend: Yes
