I bought this pair of binoculars in lieu of a more expensive German Steiner. The glass is very clear and the optics are pretty decent. The protective caps does not want to stay put so it is not very effective as a cap. The only real issue I have with the unit is the way that the range finder does not self level. The range finder will only be level when you adjust the two halves of the binoculars a certain distance. If the distance between your two eyes does not exactly match the build in distance of the binoculars, the range finder will be canted.
