Ps28-3a day/night scope - ATN PS28-3 Night Vision Rifle Scope PS28-3

Originally I purchase the PS28WPT but it was on backorder. I had about 2.5 months before my hunt, so after about the 4th week I called Optics Planet to find out what the delay was. They said it was shipping straight from the manufacture and it was still on backorder. The Optics Planet crew was great, they gave me a 5% discount because of the delay; after about 3 more weeks and still no product, I called again and still no ETA. I explained that I was going on a hog hunting trip in south Texas and was going to be doing some night hunting. I spoke with Glen and he was great, he explained that the hold up was because it was a brand new product. He couldn't give me an exact date in which it would be shipped, but he offered me something they had in stock which was the PS28-3A. He gave me a banging deal to help make up for the long delay, not to mention my price concerns; I couldn't pass it up. Man was I glad I didn't.

I received it a few days later and when I took it out of the box I quickly realized that it was a quality product. I tried it in total darkness and was amazed at how clear it was, without the illuminator. When I turned on the illuminator, it performed way better than I expected, not to mention the associated illuminator allowed me to see clearly out to about 75 yards, anything further than that I used my high intensity IR illuminator and was able to see upwards of 225 yards pretty dang clear. When I mounted it on my AR-10 I was amazed at how well it performed combined with my day optics. Traditionally I used red or green lights to hunt hogs at night, the only problem is the field of view. With the PS28-3A, the field of view was limited only by that of my scope. I stalked up on about 20 hogs a few times and it was great to fire one shot and be able to follow up with additional shots at different hogs because of this. When the hogs scattered after the first shot I was able to still see the others as they tried to run off, allowing me to shoot multiple times. With a red/green light I would lose sight of them after the first shot.

The case it came with is very sturdy, the optic itself is lighter than expected, my only con is the quick attach mount is a little sloppy on the rail, but it DID NOT effect the gun's zero. I tried to pulled it off from different angles, but even with the little movement it had, I couldn't budge it. Over all, this is an absolutely awesome product, I highly recommend it.
