I used it as a handheld monocular, for a month before mounting it on a rifle. It located deer over a half mile away. At 4.5 power the picture was very clear. Higher magnification is grainy, but 4.5 is plenty. Sighting in was a snap. For a heat source I started a nail in the target board, and heated it with a torch for the 25 yard zero. At 100 yards, I used a lag bolt, also heated with the torch. I love this scope. The Coyotes are in serious trouble now.
Pros:
- Clear picture.Repeatable accuracy,good battery life.
Cons:
- 5 second start up.
Best Used for:
- Coyotes and hogs.
