Kerry's Review of ATN ThOR-HD 2-8x 25 mm Thermal Imaging Rifle Scopes
Recently purchased (2) ThOR-HD units. One crashed the first time powered up, the other would not take a still frame picture. ATN Customer Service was very helpful, provided return shipping, and had the crashed unit back to me in less than two weeks; seems to working fine. The second scope picture issue was resolved over the phone with direction to select, "restore factory settings."
The sharpness/clarity of the unit does not appear to be nearly as good as the examples in the marketing info or cover of the box where you can see the fur on a hog. In fairness, I received mine in the spring when temps were warmer; perhaps in January, with a greater temperature differential, more detail is visible. But for the relative price, it has a number of good features, is easy to navigate, and has more than enough acuity to differentiate between a hog and a calf.

- clarity of target image is not as crisp, "photographic" as marketing materials suggest

- medium to close range hog or preditor hunting
